Questions people ask before their first audit.

What does an SEO audit actually check?

Four passes over one URL. The technical pass reads the page exactly as a crawler does — titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, canonical tags, robots.txt, sitemap reachability, internal links, redirect chains, indexing directives and structured data. The performance pass runs PageSpeed Insights on mobile and desktop for real Core Web Vitals. The AI pass checks whether answer engines can fetch, parse, attribute and date the page. The security pass looks at response headers, exposed paths and third-party script origins from outside your network.

How long does an audit take?

About twenty seconds. The crawl itself is close to instant; almost all of the wait is the two live PageSpeed Insights runs, which measure the page rather than estimate it. Nothing is queued and nothing is cached from someone else's run, so the numbers are your page as it is right now.

Do I need to install anything on my site?

No. There is no tag to add, no DNS record to change and no verification step. You paste a URL and the audit fetches the page the same way Google does, over the public internet. That also means you can audit a competitor, a client site you have not been given access to yet, or a staging URL that is reachable without a password.

Why does the report separate AI search readiness from SEO?

Because they fail differently. Classic SEO asks whether Google will rank a link. AI search asks whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude or Google's AI Overviews will fetch the page once, understand it, and cite it. Those engines do not run JavaScript, do not come back later, and will not name a source they cannot attribute to a real publisher with a date on it. A page can rank well and still be invisible to every one of them, so the two get separate scores.

Is the security check safe to run on a live site?

Yes. Every security check is read-only and performed from outside, exactly as any visitor could. It inspects the response headers, probes a short list of well-known paths that should never be public, scans the returned HTML for known injected-code signatures, and identifies whether a CDN or WAF sits in front of the origin. Nothing is written, nothing is brute-forced, and no credentials are required or accepted.

What do I get that a free online SEO checker does not give me?

A fix list rather than a grade. Every finding carries the reason it costs you traffic and the specific change that resolves it, including the framework-level and Cloudflare-level places the setting actually lives. Findings are ranked by severity so the critical ones are not buried under cosmetic warnings, and the whole report exports as a client-ready PDF.

How much does it cost?

Your first 3 audits are free and need no card. After that it is $14.99 a month for 50 audits across unlimited sites. If you need more than the plan includes, extra audits are sold as token packs from $0.30 each, and they do not expire at the end of the month.

Can I cancel the subscription at any time?

Yes, from the billing page, and it takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — there is nothing to email and no retention flow. Audits you have already run stay in your dashboard after cancelling, and any tokens you bought remain usable.
